Dive Planner V2.0.
Build the diver first. Configure the cylinders you are actually carrying, choose what is inside them, then let the planner turn that loadout into the dive plan.

Build the diver, then build the plan
The loadout is part of the planning model. In backmount/twinset mode the four carried-cylinder slots are ordered Lean → Rich. In dual sidemount, the left and right sidemount cylinders are the independent primary pair and may intentionally carry the same gas; additional stage/deco cylinders are ordered Lean → Rich separately. Every physical cylinder keeps its own mix, size, material, pressure, reserve and role.
Advanced gas managementCylinder manifest 0 additional cylinders
The diver graphic represents the primary system and four physical carry slots. For deeper Trimix or multi-stage plans, add cylinders here without forcing them into those four positions. These cylinders become real gas resources in the decompression and gas-planning engine.

Why V2 applies these configuration checks
Gas limits: working pO₂, decompression pO₂, hypoxic-gas handling, MOD and oxygen exposure remain explicit constraints; the planner never treats equipment redundancy as permission to breathe an unsuitable gas.
Placement: With backmount/twinset as the primary gas system, the four carried-cylinder positions are treated as ordered Lean → Rich slots while empty positions remain empty. With dual sidemount, the outer left/right cylinders are the independent primary pair and may use the same gas; Lean → Rich ordering applies to additional stage/deco cylinders, not across the primary pair. Additional manifest cylinders are modelled as separate staged resources rather than being forced into a visual slot.
Sidemount: cylinder material, gas use and unequal cylinders can change weighting and trim. A single steel sidemount bottle therefore produces a warning, not a prohibition; exact buoyancy depends on the actual cylinder.
Redundancy: V2 calls a configuration technically capable only from its gas-source architecture. It does not decide whether the diver is trained, certified or operationally prepared for that dive.

Conservatism
RMV · litres/min
Separate rates make the gas report more transparent: working gas, ascent travel and stationary decompression can be modelled independently.
Travel rates · m/min
No-stop ascent
Enabled by default to reflect the BusaBoy habit of a 3-minute precautionary stop around 5 m on no-stop dives. Required decompression schedules use their calculated stops instead.
Gas-switch & oxygen settings
Environment
Salt water defaults to 1.030 kg/L and fresh water to 1.000 kg/L. You can edit the density for a known site.
Minimum gas estimate
This is a transparent reserve estimate, not a universal agency rock-bottom rule. For decompression dives it estimates team gas from the deepest point to the first usable independent deco gas. If no such destination exists, the planner will say so rather than invent a reserve.
Residual loading
Stored only in this browser session. You can chain up to six calculations by storing each completed plan before building the next one.
Your plan
Everything runs locally in the browser. No dive profile or gas data is sent to BusaBoy.
Stay as long as the gas allows
Find the longest hold at the deepest planned level while leaving every used cylinder's entered reserve. The result still includes ascent, decompression and safety-stop gas.
The profile will appear here.
Set the levels, gases and model parameters, acknowledge the safety note, then calculate.
Your V2 dive plans
Don't just use the numbers.
The useful part of a planner is knowing what the numbers mean. The BusaBoy archive already covers the model behind this page and why different decompression strategies can produce different answers.
